A new group has been started on Yahoo for TalkSafe owners (and prospective TalkSafe owners). The purpose of this group is for people to talk about their installations, experiences with Bluetooth headsets, recommendations and bounce ideas off each other. It's also a great place to go for installation advice as the group is being run by PJ - our Motorcycle consultant.

Motorcycle Installations

MOTORCYCLE CONSULTANT JOINS RPF TEAM

Hi Everyone,

In recent months, we have had more and more HAMS who ride motorcycles enquiring about TalkSafe. Whilst we can advise on the radio end of things, advising on installation on motorcycles is a whole different ballgame, especially as no-one in RPF has any knowledge in that area.

We are very lucky to be able to welcome PJ to the RPF team, as our Motorcycle Installation Consultant. He's been a HAM for about 25 years and has not only successfully installed TalkSafe on his bike, but has been advising others on how to achieve it themselves, off his own back. We have received great feedback from people that PJ has helped, so we've invited him to join the staff.

In the next few days, I'll be putting his details onto the website so that you can contact him direct with any queries you may have.

CHRISTMAS SHUTDOWN

BREAKTHROUGH WITH ICOM DATA MICS

Hi Everyone,

For some time we’ve been working on a TalkSafe Microphone Splitter to operate with the Icom data mics. Like the other TMS devices this will allow you to use a TalkSafe and your microphone together, in this particular case either an HM98, HM133 or HM151. So in addition to the usefulness of the TalkSafe system, you can continue to drive safely &/or have the freedom of moving around in your shack, AND you still have the full functionality of the microphone keys. Also, if the battery runs out on your Bluetooth headset, you can still transmit using the hand mic. This has been something of a challenge as all the functions, including the PTT, are digitally controlled.

About 3 weeks ago, the breakthrough came when we cracked the code and since then we’ve been testing and refining our new product.

Whilst the aim was to design an interface purely for use with the TalkSafe range of products we felt that, having got this far, we had to go the extra mile and add a simple RS232 serial port to the unit. The serial port mimics the microphone commands and can be used to send commands to the radio set. To simplify the data interface we have turned the Icom data stream into ASCII and Hex codes that can be read and produced using simple terminal programmes such as Hyper Terminal or Real Term.

The only thing that we aren’t supplying, are simple PC software programmes that will to allow users to integrate with other Amateur software programmes. However, we know that there are many amateurs that can create such programmes.

We will be publishing the data protocol on our website in the next few days, along with adding the TalkSafe Microphone Splitter (model no. TMS-IDM) to the online shop for anyone who wants to place orders.

We are very proud to announce that the Splitter will be available in the next 2-3 weeks and advance orders are being taken.

TORBAY RALLY

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that we'll be attending the Torbay Rally at Newton Abbott this weekend.

This will be the first outing for the VXI BlueParrott RoadWarrior noise cancelling Bluetooth headset, since our appointment as European distributors. It'll be interesting to see the reaction to it! We will also be showing some of the BHI kit (as Graham can't make it himself).

BEWARE OF WHO YOU TRUST - A VALUABLE LESSON LEARNED!

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure some of you will have noticed that the RPF Comms website did a disappearing act for a few days - please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this!

When we first set up RPF Comms, we employed a web designer (as you do) to do the necessary, as we didn't have the knowhow or time to get it right. I chose someone I knew and thought I could trust. He had produced some impressive-looking websites that appeared quite high on the Google rankings and obviously appeared to know his stuff. At first, things went well but as time progressed and we wanted to make subtle changes and additions to the website, he started asking for more and more money (as an example, I wanted to add ONE sentence to some copy and change/add a photo and he wanted about £100-ish for doing it), AND was taking up to 2 weeks to get any changes made (some of which were time-critical!). I also found out that he wasn't doing the work himself, he was getting someone in India to do it! What a nice profit he was making!

While all this was going on, I was introduced to a fantastic lady called Polly Weeks, who was also a web designer. I had many discussions with her and she pointed out how much our site needed to be improved, exactly where changes needed to be made and why. What's more, she told me that she could give us a content management system so that I could make any changes I wanted without it costing me a penny, and offered me training to use it. I was obviously very interested and checked her out. She was very highly thought of by everyone I spoke to, so as I was getting increasingly frustrated with my current designer, I decided to move to Polly.

Things were going from bad to worse with my original designer and we had a parting of the ways, which wasn't the most friendly to say the least!

By this time, Polly had designed the new website and we were able to go live almost immediately - which was superb from our point of view!

I didn't give this other guy any thought for months until last week, when I received an invoice from him for the renewal of the RPF Comms domain names. There was nothing in his email to indicate urgency of payment, and as I was busy with other things, I didn't deal with it immediately, especially as I knew that domain companies normally give you 30 days to pay.

Then, last Thursday, the unthinkable happened - the RPF Comms website disappeared taking the RPF email system with it. Our previous web designer had registered the domain in my name but with himself as primary contact, and had sat on the renewal invoice for over 3 weeks before sending it on to us, and to add insult to injury, I've since found out that he was charging me DOUBLE the cost! I guess he got some sort of satisfaction from his malicious attempt to sabotage our business, but it just proves to me that someone who can act so unethically, deserves to lose my business at the very least. It begs the question - who else has he done something like this to? He should remember, what goes around comes around - karma can be a bitch!

It has taken me until yesterday to get everything transferred into my control, having provided proof of identity and a utility bill showing the company address, and having to pay for several phone calls billed at 10p per minute, before I could renew our domain name and get everything back up and running.

So, the moral of this sad little tale is beware of who you trust, make sure you have everything under your control and don't get ripped off like I did! As it says in the title of this post - a valuable lesson learned!

TALKSAFE & MOTORCYCLES

Hi Everyone,

I had a very interesting email the other day from a guy called Geoff from Virginia, USA, and wanted to share some of the information with you.

Geoff is the proud owner of a 2008 Harley Davidson Electra-Glide Classic motorbike, and he has successfully installed TalkSafe for use whilst riding.

Apparently, Geoff found that some minor modifications were necessary during the installation, like an inline fuse holder for the power cable (hidden inside the fairing), but he is very happy with the audio quality and the functionality.

I have asked Geoff if he could write a report of the installation to help other motorcyclists and I'm waiting to hear back from him. If he agrees, I will let you know and publish details on the website.

RPF APPOINTED EUROPEAN DEALER FOR THE ROADWARRIOR

I've just issued a press release and wanted to share the good news with all my readers.

VXI Corporation, who make the BlueParrott RoadWarrior noise cancelling headset, have appointed RPF Comms as their European distributor for the Amateur Radio market.

This is actually great timing for VXI as they have just launched the latest version, the B250, which has extended talktime and range, and they've made improvements to the audio quality as well.

I must say, having tested the new B250, we are really impressed with it. The audio quality is excellent and the noise cancelling is pretty awesome.

Details will be appearing on the website within the next day or so, but stock won't be available for about a week, although advance orders will be taken.

FEEDBACK & HEADSETS

Hi Everyone,

Getting feedback on the website and this blog is great for us. We get ideas of what people would like to see with our products, whether they like the products and whether there are things they are not happy with that we could improve upon.

The downside of this process is when you get one that is either malicious or from someone who has not taken the time to find what they are looking for.

As an example, I received an extremely negative and quite upsetting feedback form about TalkSafe on 31st May. The sender accused us of having no pricing on the website, no information regarding Bluetooth headset compatibility and no ability to purchase online. I don't know what site was being viewed but it can't have been rpf-comms.com! I really hope I don't receive any more like this, especially as the accusations are false.

We are often asked to recommend headsets to work with TalkSafe and TalkSafe Ranger, and this has been done in a previous post. I've also requested feedback from readers of this blog as to the headsets they are using but to date have only received one reply! Information can be found on the website under "TalkSafe Tech".

Don't forget, this blog is run for YOUR benefit, so helpful and informative feedback is ALWAYS most welcome - you can be sure that someone will find it useful!

RPF SUCCESS AT DAYTON HAMVENTION

Hi Everyone,

Well, we've just returned from the US, jet lagged but ecstatic from Dayton Hamvention.

We were made so welcome, not only by the organisers but also the other exhibitors and all the people who visited our stand. Phil & I felt like we'd been accepted 'into the family' and it made an amazing difference to our whole experience there.

TalkSafe and TalkSafe Ranger were a big hit with everyone and the Gizzmo range also had its fair share of fans.

RPF now has a US Rep - a lady called Evelyn Garrison - who is so well thought of and liked by all the companies we spoke to, and in the words of someone very high up at Yaesu (exec vice president) "we are very lucky to have her".

In addition, 3 US dealers have been appointed with about another 5 or so in the pipeline. Details will be posted on the website in the next day or two.

I'm planning to devote a page on the website to our adventures in Dayton and hope to have pictures uploaded by the end of next week.

I was overwhelmed by the number of good luck messages I received prior to Dayton and would like to thank everyone for their support.

By the way, keep your eyes peeled for news of a new accessory for TalkSafe in the coming weeks.

RPF FLIES THE FLAG FOR THE UK

RPF Communications is flying the flag for the UK and will be exhibiting at Dayton Hamvention in May.

The 3 day show, running from 16-18 May 08 is arguably the largest amateur radio show in the world, with attendees numbering in excess of 18,000 (based on last years figures).

STEVE PASSED THE FOUNDATION EXAM @ C.A.R.S.

Hi Everyone,

Having nagged our Senior Software Specialist, Steve, into submission, he finally enrolled on the latest Foundation course run by Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (C.A.R.S.).

The final exam was last night and we are very pleased (and proud) to announce that Steve PASSED with flying colours!

This means that the entire senior management team here at RPF Comms are now licenced Amateurs.

Having taken both of my exams with C.A.R.S., I have an idea of how much work goes into putting on these courses. The instructors give up their free time to run the courses, prepare the course materials/handouts etc, procure components for practical work and don't get paid for all the work they put into it.

If it wasn't for people like the training team at C.A.R.S., and at other clubs around the country, we wouldn't be able to attract new members into the Amateur community and our hobby would eventually die out. So I, for one, would like to say a big THANK YOU to these special people for all their hard work, and especially to the guys at C.A.R.S. for helping yet another member of the RPF team into the world of Amateur Radio!

MAJOR MELTDOWN

Unfortunately, my computer has suffered a major meltdown this week to the extent that my hard drive has had to be wiped, re-formatted and re-partitioned. Well, what a year this has been for us. When we launched TalkSafe at the end of May, we didn't dream that it would take off as well as it has. Early indications are that Ranger will also be a huge success. And there's lots more to come next year - new products are being designed so things are pretty exciting here. The success of TalkSafe is due to many people, but at the end of the day it comes down to YOU, our customers, and I'd like to thank each and every one of you!

Christmas is fast approaching and we are getting very close to deadlines for guaranteed delivery, so I thought it a good idea to let you know what those deadlines are:

for UK: last orders will be shipped 12 noon Friday 21st December

for Europe: check with your local dealer but from the UK, last orders will be shipped 12 noon Wednesday 19th December

for USA/Canada: last orders will be shipped 12 noon Monday 17th December

VOX & TalkSafe

Hi Everyone,

We have been getting a few enquiries regarding VOX and whether we intend to bring out a VOX version of TalkSafe.

Originally we shied away from the idea of VOX due to the fact that the amount of in-car noise would be constantly triggering the VOX instead of it waiting for actual voice activation. However, the technical team are looking at this again and I will report back as info becomes available.

In the meantime, if you have a TalkSafe unit and you also have VOX on your transceiver, you can use the two together! All you would need to do is ensure the Time Out Timer is off and leave the PTT open on the headset and set up the transceiver for VOX as normal, and away you go!

8 PIN MIC LEADS FOR TALKSAFE

Hi Everyone,

I received a feedback form from the website late last night. The person who took the time to complete the on-line form (thank you, whoever you are), posed a question but forgot to leave any contact details for me to reply. So I thought I would answer the question here, which may also help some of you.

I was asked whether there were any plans to allow TalkSafe to work with standard Icom 8 pin mic jacks.

ANSWER: We already have 8 pin mic leads available.

On the RPF website, under 'Products' then 'TalkSafe Extras', the last 2 cables on the list have 8 pin connectors - the ones above them are either RJ45 or RJ12.
The TS-062-818 cable has the 8 pin round connector and is suitable for Kenwood and Alinco.
The TS-062-819 cable also has the 8 pin round connector and is suitable for Icom and Yaesu.

TALKSAFE AUDIO

Hi Everyone,

On my drive home from the office last week, I was listening to the local repeater and heard a couple of people moaning about the transmit audio from a person who has a TalkSafe in their vehicle. The audio was reasonably clear (although a little muffled in places) but the voice had more base to it than normal and as such it didn't really sound like the person's voice normally sounds.

I did a bit of digging and discovered that the person in question was using a Blue Parrot 'Road Warrior' headset. This headset has noise cancelling which tends to roll off the top frequencies in the voice band making it excellent for HF but less 'punchy' when used for mobile FM operation.

Unfortunately for us, TalkSafe was blamed for the audio quality by the other parties in the QSO. The interesting thing is that I've spoken to these same people many times using TalkSafe and a 'bog standard' Motorola headset, and they have had no complaints about my audio whatsoever!

As a result of the conversation I heard, I feel it's a good idea to widen the discussions of this topic.

A good quality headset can make a big difference to the overall experience. The transmit audio uses the microphone in the headset and whilst mic gain levels can be set using a potentiometer on TalkSafe and improvements may be gained, overall the quality is dependant on the headset itself.

Everyone, understandably, wants to achieve the best audio they can. One TalkSafe customer went to his local Carphone Warehouse and spent about 3 hours trying different headsets with TalkSafe until he found the one that, in his opinion, gave him the best audio quality and was comfortable to wear. He was the one who told us about the 'Jawbone'!

Obviously, not everyone has the time to do this and has to rely on 'word of mouth'.
This is where you guys can make a difference. By feeding back information to us, we can let others know of your experiences and we can build up a good database of information that everyone can use.

Another one of our customers has tried many different headsets and he's said that he will write a report for us, giving his findings. I know that, at the moment, he favours the Nokia BH900 headset which has noise cancelling. However, I don't know if he's tried the Jawbone yet!

We have tried many different headsets ourselves and have published a list on the website of those that work with TalkSafe reasonably well to excellent (see post dated 12th October), so we do have 'a starter for ten', but we would really appreciate any information or feedback you can give us on headsets that you've used with TalkSafe.

I look forward to getting lots of comments/emails.........

A WARM WELCOME AT KEMPTON PARK

Hi Everyone,

Having returned from the Radiofairs rally yesterday, footsore and weary, I feel it's necessary to make a few comments about the day.

Firstly, I have to say how well organised the event was. Phil & I were given a warm welcome by people on the committee, who went out of their way to ensure that we were happy with everything. The venue itself was excellent - there were enough entrances for traders to load and unload without getting in each others way and you could get your vehicle pretty close to the doors too! There were no other events running at the venue so it was quiet, easily accessible, and with good parking facilities. On the downside, we didn't see any notices posted on route to advise first-timers that they were going the right way and they could have done with a big sign at the entrance. However, that was a minor thing compared with the overall experience.

Secondly, the people attending the event were a really friendly bunch! We saw a few familiar faces from other events (which is always nice - especially when they stop to say hallo) and lots of new ones too. Overall, Phil & I were delighted by how nice everyone was and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visited our stand yesterday and helped make it such an enjoyable experience for us.

As this was our last rally of the year, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We only have one more event on our calender before Xmas and that's on 1st Dec. More details will follow shortly.

HEADSET RECOMMENDATION

Hi Everyone,

I'm constantly being asked to recommend headsets for use with TalkSafe, and it's difficult to name just one or two bearing in mind that TalkSafe will work with any Bluetooth headset. I put a document on the website under 'TalkSafe Tech' which lists some of the ones that the RPF team have used, and also ones that you and other customers have told us about.

However, we were told about a particular headset that also had noise cancelling and we bought it to try it out. All I can say is "WOW" - what a piece of kit!

The headset in question is called 'JAWBONE'. It's made in the USA but is available in the UK from Carphone Warehouse for around £80. You can buy it online direct from Jawbone, which may work out a bit cheaper with the current exchange rate but does depend on their shipping costs - worth a look before dashing out to your nearest Carphone Warehouse!

The Jawbone unit comes in a strong seethrough plastic box, ideal for keeping the extra bits and pieces in, and a cardboard outer. It's an over-the-ear headset and comes with a total of 4 left and right earloops (2 of each - 1 large and 1 small set). You also have a choice of 4 pads to go in the ear or it can sit just on the outside as well. It has a USB charging cable and a 'plug cap' adaptor is also provided. For those of you that are bothered, it comes in a choice of 3 colours: black, silver and red. Phil, my other half reckons it looks weird but I think it looks quite stylish and modern.

There are 2 modes of operation: standard and noise cancelling. In standard mode, it's not really any different from any other headset on the market. However, in noise cancelling mode it's awesome! You simply push a button on the headet and you get a ascending set of 3 tones to tell you it's in noise cancelling mode. When you take it out of this mode, you get another 3 tones, this time descending.

We have tested this headset in a vehicle with the radio going almost full blast in the background, and in our workshop with a drill and hot air gun very close by and the radio going, and in both cases all you can hear is the voice of the user - every bit of background noise is eliminated! You do tend to get just a millisecond of the background noise as you switch into noise cancelling mode but then it's quiet as a mouse!

Another bonus is that it's comfortable to wear!

Switching delay into Tx / Rx is approximately 1-2 seconds, which is pretty much the same as most of the others on the market. But this pales into insignificance when you consider the performance!

On the downside (and I think these are only very minor things), the call pick up/call drop button is a bit stiff and you cannot turn it off until TalkSafe is switched off.

SUPER-VISOR: A GREAT NEW PRODUCT

Hi Everyone,

In my last post I promised you news about a great new product. I met the inventors recently and was so impressed with their design, and the fact that it will help drivers stay safer, that I wanted to pass the news on to you...

Their product is called Super-Visor. It is designed to be fitted to the interior of the windscreen and consists of 2 separate screens. The first screen is fully UV resistant, to protect the eyes from the damaging effects of UV rays from the sun, and the second provides further protection against glare.

If you think about it for a moment, how many of us have been caught out with the sudden appearance of low sun in winter, almost blinding us, or even during summer evenings when even sunglasses don't quite cut the glare out enough? I know I've been caught many times like this and adjusting the car sun visor hasn't cut enough of the glare out, even when I'm wearing my shades!

Really, you need to think of this as UV sunglasses for your vehicle - that you will never leave at home!

This company are even looking to develop a screen that will offer protection from the glare of on-coming headlights when driving at night. I for one, am looking forward to that piece of kit coming on the market!!!

What a whirlwind few weeks this has been.

First of all, I want to say a very big THANK YOU to all of you that came to see us on our stand at Donington Park. We had lots of great conversations with people about TalkSafe and the feedback we got was tremendous.

Even though I had nothing to do with it, I'd like to apologise to all of you who tried to make the journey to Donington on the Saturday, only to get caught up in horrendous traffic jams and ended up turning round before arriving. LARS RALLY UPDATE 1

Hi,

I promised I would give you more info on what's happening at Donington Park this year so here's your first update.

Our Technical Director, Phil Osborne G4RPF will be giving a talk on both days. His talk, entitled: "TalkSafe - Freedom for Mobile Communications" will be from 2-3pm on the Friday, and 1-2pm on the Saturday.
Here's a little taster of his talk.........

SYNOPSIS: Whether it is law or not, it just makes no sense to be driving whilst holding a hand microphone! Investigating hands-free operation for mobile communications and discovering how you can stay safer on the road and still participate in the hobby we enjoy.

I hope those of you attending the rally will make a bit of time to attend one of his talks - he has masses of experience to share and is quite happy for people to pick his brains!

TalkSafe, HSE & Driving Safely

Hi

I attended a seminar last week where I was doing a talk on TalkSafe, and one of the other speakers was talking about how the HSE are clamping down on companies that don't have risk assessments for people driving for the companies they work for.

The whole concept is too much to go into here but the nuts and bolts of it (as I understand it), is that anyone in a company that has to drive, regardless of whether they are using a company vehicle or their own, has to be risk assessed before the journey commences.

So, if you imagine the scenario: Mr Whoever jumps in his car and goes down to the bank twice a week for the company. The company is supposed to ensure that Mr W's car is road-worthy, properly maintained and legal, and also that Mr W himself is not only legally able to drive the vehicle but that his driving is up to standard and he is fit and well to undertake the journey.

This is obviously a very abridged version of the HSE policy! However, it does make you think. Whilst some may say that it's just more red tape to pile onto already overloaded small businesses, studies have apparently shown that companies who do the risk assessments properly and, where required, invest in a little extra driver training, have a reduced accident rate than those that do not.

I'm an advocate for safer driving practices, hence our launch of TalkSafe, which I strongly believe (from first hand experience) has made me a safer driver, so it was interesting to hear what this other company had to say.

It is definitely food for thought, especially for those of you who drive for a living or undertake journeys for your job (whether it be occasional or regular).

McMichael Rally/MLandS Open Day

Hi,

On 15th July we attended the McMichael Rally in Sonning, Berkshire. We were there to support one of our distributors - Martin Lynch & Sons - and shared part of their stand.

We were so lucky with the weather - it was very overcast for most of the day and the forecast was, quite frankly, abissmal! As it was an open air rally, we were quite worried that we were in for a soaking, but all we got were about a dozen drops of rain and that was it!

TalkSafe was very well received. There was alot of interest shown in it, especially by the Red Cross (who were on duty at the event).

We left the event around 2-ish and by all accounts, timed it quite well. Apparently the heavens opened around 2.30pm, so we missed it (thank goodness).

Anyway, there's lots of things coming up so keep watching the blog for info on where we'll be and when!

Sorry folks - I dropped a whotsit! The TalkSafe review for RadCom will appear in the September issue NOT the August one. Same thing with the RSGB reader offer. I really got my wires crossed with that one - sorry!!

In the meantime, the review HAS appeared in Monitoring Monthly and a cracking review it is too! (Thanks Guys).

One other bit of news for you is that I'm about to join the ranks of the 2E0 fraternity, having passed my Intermediate exam on Thursday last week!

I'm back from Friedrichshafen, foot sore but happy! I was quite surprised how many Brits actually attend this event!

TalkSafe was very well received and alot of interest was shown in it. We now have 5 European distributors with more on the way, so all in all, the trip was a success (I even sold some while I was there)!!

Friedrichshafen - going where I've never been before.....

Hi,

I'm off to the biggest radio rally/show/exhibition in Europe tomorrow - Friedrichshafen in Germany. I've heard and read lots about it and by all accounts it's about 8-10 times the size of Donington Park LARS rally!

It will be interesting to talk to dealers in other countries and also other Hams (especially as I don't get a chance to play HF at the moment). I also have an ulterior motive - yes you've guessed it - I'm taking TalkSafe with me to launch into Europe. Wish me luck (please)!

I've got to say, I'm totally blown away by the reaction to TalkSafe!!

In less than a week of the ad appearing in RadCom, we had sold out of the first production batch and we've been taking advance orders for the next batch, which is due out 1st week July. Things have been pretty manic the last couple of months and I'm sorry that I've neglected you!

We attended the NARSA rally in Blackpool, back in March and ran a Free Prize Draw. The lucky winner of a PowerGizzmo and HF DetectGizzmo was Mark Lupton M0DZR of Huddersfield. He was gobsmacked when I phoned him to tell him he'd won. I've spoken to Mark several times since and he is "well chuffed" with his Gizzmo system!

The weather forecast looks good for tomorrow, so we are going full steam ahead with the Event.

It's quite exciting! This is the first time that we've done anything like this!

The evening promises to be a fantastic, informative and educational experience, giving attendees the opportunity to not only learn more about certain aspects of the hobby, but also to 'pick the brains' of the experts who are there just for them!

If it is the success we hope it will be, then this will be the first of many such events. Perhaps I'll end up going on the road with it. Who knows?

RPF Communications launched their new range of products at the Leicester Amateur Radio Show at Donington Park in September. The Gizzmo Range is a remote power monitoring system. Designed to be the ultimate in station monitoring and control, the PowerGizzmo controller is easy to navigate using the on-screen menu and can display measurements in Watts, dBm and dBW. The operator has the choice of several analogue style meters or bar graphs. The DetectGizzmo power heads are installed in-line between the transceiver and the antenna and will feed back Forward and Reflected Power and VSWR (or Return Loss), with accuracy rivalling that of professional power meters.
The beauty of the system is that once installed, the DetectGizzmo heads can be hidden away (up in the loft, in a cupboard etc) and all that is in the shack is the PowerGizzmo controller, saving considerable amounts of space.
The controller is flexible, being able to monitor several DetectGizzmo heads simultaneously, so only one PowerGizzmo will ever be needed. In addition, the controller can handle up to 126 products, which is just as well considering RPF are working on the next batch of products to add to the range.

DetectGizzmo heads available are HF (1.8-70MHz), VHF (100-250MHz), UHF (400-500MHz), Dual Band VHF/UHF (144-148MHz and 430-440MHz) and Dual Band SHF (1.0-2.5GHz).
